Galaxy Nexus or iPhone 5 till next Nexus

I'm on Verizon and my Droid Incredible is definitely starting to show it's age. I have an upgrade, but I've also considered buying a Galaxy Nexus off contract to hold me over until (hopefully soon) another Nexus is compatible with Verizon's network.

I've also considered using my upgrade on an iPhone 5 to use for a while because Best Buy is offering $50 off and it would be a good phone to give to one of my parents whenever a new Nexus comes out. My first smartphone was a 3GS after years of Sony Ericssons and I enjoyed it then. I've read a lot of reviews of iOS since then, but I haven't delved into it too much myself.

I'd like to clarify that I adore Android as of Jelly Bean. I love Google Now and I love my Google services. The iPhone definitely has beautiful hardware and the camera is definitely an advantage over something like a Galaxy Nexus. I've been running Jelly Bean ROMs on my DINC for a while now and couldn't really see myself enjoying a skinned experience. I used a friend's S3 for a while and just didn't enjoy it half as much as stock. I know there are ROMs but I also don't enjoy the design of the S3 or the DNA so I'd rather not get locked into those devices for 2 years. I'd like to keep these devices out of the discussion. Also the Note II is out of the picture because as long as my fingers may be I have no desire to carry around such a monster device.

So I'd like to know if there are any current iPhone users who really enjoyed Jelly Bean before and how your experience has been. Maybe you own both and and enjoy both. I just basically want to know if I'd be content with iOS for however long until a new Nexus comes out or if I should just get a Galaxy Nexus for the wait.
