I need advice for making a dumb TV Smarter.

The TV is a 37" JVC LCD (model no. JLC37BC3002).

It has 2 HDMI ports and a USB port, although right now it looks like it's only for photo viewing.

What I would like to use the TV for:

• Viewing video files (mostly .mkv, but also .avi, and .mp4)
• Streaming live events from online sites
• Possibly looking into getting a game system (probably an XBOX 360, but maybe a PS3)
• Watching content that isn't necessarily live (the non-plus version of Hulu, major network sites like ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.)

What items would you suggest I buy/download?
