Will we start seeing more "Retina" screen products from non-Apple companies in the future?
Just curious.
I was skeptical at first before buying my rMBP and thought that people saying that they "would never go back to a non-retina device again" were just exaggerating. After using it for a week however, I honestly don't think that I would ever want to go back; it's just such a beautiful screen. For a first time Apple user, it's amazing. I don't regret dropping $2.5K for this. Sure, I may not be using it to its full potential as just a college student, but it's still a great laptop. I'm just curious as to whether or not this push by apple for all things retina means that soon other companies will start making their own "retina" devices. I mean, sure you'll always get the argument that "more pxls != better computer" but I don't know, I think that in order for other OEM's to persuade me to make the jump back to Windows, they would need to have their own version of a "Retina" screen.
Thoughts?
I should clarify, I mean laptops, since there are other smartphones out now that have the same/higher ppi than the iPhone 5, but does that technically make them the same if not better than the retina?
