Colors: I don't even know what to believe anymore
I'll give you brief history of the sub 5 inch devices I've owned:
Original iPod Touch
iPod Touch 3rd generation
After owning these, as far as accurate colors go, I don't know what's right anymore.
I never had any complaints with the iOS devices, but only because I didn't know any better. With my Nexus S however, the screen looked jaundice stricken to me. White looked so incredibly yellow, it was puke inducing. I ended up up flashing a custom kernel to use Voodoo color to fix it.
With the Galaxy Nexus, I also noticed somme yellowing, though it wasn't as bad as the Nexus S. After flashing a custom kernel to deal with the colors, I ended having so many stability issues, I went back to stock and just dealt with it.
Now I have a Nexus 4. I just got it yesterday and I don't know what to believe anymore. The default Galaxy Nexus screen is not as sharp, but colors look so much deeper and alive. The Nexus 4 screen is amazingly crisp, but it just looks somewhat dull and lifeless compared to the Galaxy Nexus. I know LCD advocates will quip that it is because it is so much more natural, but I don't care. People drink and smoke because natural can be boring, the same can be said for mobile screens.
So guys, tell me. What is your preferred screen technology? Why? Are you on the fence? Do you even know what to believe? Do you bow to the based LCD god, or is AMOLED the supreme deity?
I'm a heathen looking for a religion, save me.
