Purchased Nexus 4 Dec. 7th, Shipped the 8th, Arrived the 11th.
I'm not sure what to make of this but apparently after speaking to a Google Play representative earlier today I learned that newer orders are not being held to the same 6 - 7 week delay as was previously reported. While the Nexus ordering page hasn't been updated to reflect the newfound availability, I've attached a couple of pictures to show what happened last night when I ordered theNexus 4.
First, take a look at the receipt time. I ordered it around 10pm EST. You can imagine my disbelief when I received tracking info this morning at 4am EST. I thought It was a mistake, especially after reading some of the back order horror stories here in the Android Army forums, but after a quick call to Google Play the rep I spoke with stated that not only was it correct but that I should be expecting my N4 by no later than Wednesday.
I'm not sure how it happened, but considering the original receipt showed 6 - 7 weeks, I'm certainly not complaining.
If you've placed an order and have been left in limbo, perhaps you should give Google Play a quick call and see if your order can be expedited, or at the very least find out why new orders are taking priority.
UPDATE: It's shipped! 4 day turnaround for a device delayed for "weeks".
UPDATE #2: Here's the money shot. Notice the order date on the receipt is the 8th, yet it shipped on the 7th. I don't even understand how this happened. LOL.
