Pushing Content Consumption Forward

Here's an idea: An internet "TV network" where you pay for the content that you want to watch at $1 per new episode and all old episodes of every show are available for streaming at anytime 1 month after originally airing. Digital Downloads of Seasons would be made available for $5-$10 based on content; individual episodes can be shared via site provided magnet torrent links.

The content would obviously have advertising and 75% of the $1 per episode goes to the makers of the show in addition to 20% of ad-revenue.

The site would also feature social interactions such as hangout style viewing with friends, live chats, forums, and obligatory twitter, facebook, G+, etc.

The key is to keep the site clean of ALL content from current major studios and establish itself from the beginning on an original content platform. This would obviously be aimed at forward thinking independent acts looking to establish themselves and investors who are more concerned with the idea than doing anything for the profit. With internet capable televisions on the rise, growing desires to "cut the cord," and prominence of file sharing, people are receiving their content in manners that they deem acceptable. A channel such as this basically gives the user ultimate control over content consumption while still being profitable to the provider. From my P.O.V., this can be a genuine catalyst to permanently change content consumption.
