Best option for a PMP (Portable Media Player)

Ive been an iPod owner since back 2009 but I somewhat feel like I want a change specially since my first iPod had a factory built problem which apperantly the screen wasnt put on well and leaked and the second one got some problems with the Audiojack, making whatever headphones I had lose audio on the left speaker, which im fairly pissed of since I originally went through 3 different headphones only to find out it was the device.

I have been looking at the iPod 4th Gen anyway and I MIGHT just buy if it turns out it would be the only real option

I am also keeping an eye on the Galaxy Player but im sketchy because despite being a loyal Android fan I feel like paying wayyy too much for what essentially is a galaxy S phone without the antenna and Im probably not gonna get any form of upgrade on it, and Im also looking at the new Sony Walkman but Im not aware if its available in the US or if its worth it when comparing it to the iPod....also Im looking for something else in color thats not Black, if I do get the iPod it might be white or any other color for any other alternative as long as its not black, im kinda feed up with black electronics.
