Look smart and win points
Whether you're a The Verge editor or just Joe Blow, you too can gain popularity on the internets by bashing Microsoft. This however, has to be done right, as there are traps and pitfalls. Follow these 7 talking points:
Do
1. Mention Microsoft Bob whenever anyone suggests Microsoft innovates. Add Clippy in the same post for bonus points.
2. Post the Good-Bad-Good-Bad chart everytime the article talks about a Windows release. No matter what the release is, the last one was good, so this one is going to be crap. Ignore Windows 2000, the mother of all successful Windows releases for bonus points (and because comes right before XP)
3. Constantly mention BSODs, but don't forget to mention that you haven't used Windows in like forever (this is something that too many forget)
4. Windows is a piece of junk, except for the features stolen from Mac and Linux.
5. If you get caught running Windows in a virtual machine, have an excuse ready: "the dumb asses at work force me to use use X piece of crap that only works on Windows". "It's for games" also works, but it's not recommended, as it implies free choice.
Do not
6. Bash Bill Gates; he has unfortunately become off limits and you can weaken your point by doing so.
7. Bash Xbox, it's making tons of money now. New talking point being worked on.
Here's wishing you many +1 and likes (using 3rd party cookies, of course)
