Why an iPad??

So I have been a die hard android user for a while (Dont shoot!) but I have a problem. As much as I love android and dont like to share money with apple, I want a usable tablet. I have a touchpad with CM9, which isnt terrible, but it certainly isnt great. For one I will be the first to admit that ICS has not been optimized enough for tablet use. Second is that the hardware is a joke. Whenever I go to a meeting and pull it out to take notes, I look at someone on an iPad 2 and just wanna die. Plus I have to admit I think Smart Covers are the coolest idea ever, I hate how much bulkier a full cover makes the device, but I want to protect the screen.

So here is my main question, what is the KILLER feature or App that you cant live without, or that makes your iPad totally worth it. I have used it a few times, and I cant stand how much a waste of a tablet homescreen it is to just have a grid of icons like that. But are there some apps (productive ones and fun ones, whatever) that make it so great that I can get over it.

I dont think anyone is using a tablet OS in the most efficient way right now, Apple is at the top of that list, but they certainly have the apps down, so is that enough?
