Garden of Apples
Apple's garden, is near perfect. The idea that I can walk into my house and have instant access to displaying recently captured pictures or movies on my 40" screen with no delay, is incredible. The idea of opening iPhoto and seeing every picture I have taken ALREADY on there, without a sync on my part. The idea that I can edit a Pages document, Numbers, and Keynote on my iPad or iPhone... than download those on a computer and have it converted to PDF, iWork, or Microsoft Office format... Later dragging said documents, edited, back onto that web page only for it to be auto synced to my iPad and iPhone instantly. The idea that I can pick and choose what music I want locally without syncing or setting up playlists. The idea that I can download an app on my iPhone and it immediately installs on my iPad and appears on my home computer so that if I were to sync, it would be with minimal data. The idea that I can start playing Infinity Blade 2 on my iPad, than pick up my save point on my iPhone. The idea that any content I change on my Mac, iPad, or iPhone will immediately be reflected on all my devices (bookmarks, contacts, mail, calendar, notes, reminders). The idea that when I buy a new iPhone or iPad all I have to do is sign in on the welcome screen and Apple will automatically push all of my settings, apps, game saves, and documents without a whimper or stutter (soon to be with Macs). All of this with minimal to no setup on my part.
Lastly, the feeling that a company is out to benefit me. The feeling that every step forward feels in my favor. The moaners only moan as they grasp old ideas. Apple hasn't taken off because of some fad. It's an ideal.
All of this.
There isn't a market without contrast. It's not me selling Apple products. I just think all of this is mind bending. Less than a decade ago we had flip phones with 62x62 pixel screens and had to manually enter our contacts and prayed we didn't lose our phones for loss of data. We scorned those who had one device for everything “your going to be sorry if it's lost”. Now all my devices have all of my data. I have nothing against any other mobile OS or desktop. I'm not here to put anyone else down. Just sharing my exploitation of the awesome garden Apple maintains. You shouldn't get technology. Technology should get you.
–let's not turn this into an iOS vs. Android post–
