HTC prepping new Windows Phone devices for Apollo launch
HTC's new One family of Android phones may be the company's big news of the day, but that doesn't mean it's sitting still when it comes to other platforms. Both Pocket-lint and MobileBurn spoke with the company's chief product officer, Kouji Kodera, who informed them that HTC is developing a new range of Windows Phone devices that will be introduced in conjunction with the Apollo upgrade to Microsoft's mobile operating system. Apollo is expected to ship in the fourth quarter of this year, with an extensive number of new features in tow. Kodera stated that the branding for the new devices is still in play, so it's unclear whether we'll be seeing Windows Phone members of the One family or a completely new product line unto itself. The company will also be taking the HTC Titan II, which is rumored to be landing on AT&T in March, to additional LTE-equipped countries over the coming months, indicating that HTC still believes in the potential of Windows Phone — even if LG doesn't.
