LG has posted a teaser for the Optimus Vu, a smartphone with a 5-inch, 4:3 aspect ratio display. Details from the video itself are scarce, but Datacider and Google Pad are reporting that the phone will feature a 1024 x 768 IPS display, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and an 8-megapixel camera. NFC support is also said to be on board, but both sites are stating that the device will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread rather than Ice Cream Sandwich, which would line up with the four buttons visible in the video.

Google Pad also claims the device will support LTE, though US customers shouldn't get their hopes up just yet, as there's a good chance the phone will be available only in Korea to start. As for the size, we'd almost accuse LG of having Galaxy Note envy, but the 4:3 aspect ratio certainly is a differentiator — for better or worse.

Thanks, Byungjin!
