Samsung won't host an MWC 2012 press conference
It was shocking enough to hear that Samsung won't introduce the Galaxy S III at MWC later this month, but now the company has gone further by announcing that it won't even hold a press event during the 2012 show. Sascha Segan over at PC Mag was first to hear this troubling news, which deprives us of one of the most colorful and frankly ostentatious events of the year. Samsung should still have a new product or three to launch at MWC, as promised, however the usual big set-piece event is now off the table.
Here's the official line from Samsung's US PR agency:
"Samsung confirmed that they are not hosting a press conference at Mobile World Congress, but Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012."
