Why is Windows on Arm inferior to the iPad?
Everywhere I look on the internet it seems everyone is saying that WOA is in trouble and that the only thing that is going to really let a intel tablet compete is backwards desktop compatibility. What makes the iPad so much better than a Windows 8 WOA tablet? Its understood that the iPad has more apps and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, but that could and most likely will change sooner rather than later. Aside from iPad's head start in the app category I just don't understand why it is so much better than a windows tablet. Win8 has the ability to run multiple apps on screen at the same time seamlessly and has live tiles instead of static icons. The iPad's gestures such as the 4 finger dragging are awkward compared to the app switching with your thumbs in Win8. I personally feel that the metro look and the focus on content is refreshing, though I know that is a matter of opinion. Using Skydrive which is much more flexible that ICloud you can finally sync settings and data easily between all your windows devices and it has the integrated social networking that has been one of the top features of windows phone. Not to mention Xbox and Kinect support as well. Finally the desktop will still be there to run office apps in a productive environment just as we have become accustom to on our current PC's in a no comprise solution. There are even all the little extras such as being able to designate different internet connections as metered and have the behavior of the OS and apps change accordingly, as well as the improved task manager and USB support. These are just the things WOA has going for it. When you factor in almost full backwards compatibility with the Intel tablets, I don't see how it cannot be a compelling solution. I know it will come down to hardware to make the final choice, but as far as the OS itself, I don't really see any advantages to IOS over Win8 for tablets. What do you guys think?
