Why Do People Like Android Tablets?

First, I am seriously asking this and not trolling. I am asking for a legitimate reason that you own an Android tablet (or would consider one).

I have owned an iPad since the first one came out (I got one launch day), but I have also owned a few Android tablets (Transformer, Acer Iconia and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus). In my experience they were all sluggish and not up to snuff. They also felt sluggish to me. In my opinion, they are not nearly as polished as the iPad is (both in terms of software and hardware).

Again, I am not trolling. I'm just curious why people like their Android tablets.
