The Vox Games Ninja Gaiden 3 review will be delayed

As a new editorial group establishing ourselves and our voice with our audience and readers at large, it's important to me as Reviews Editor that we make clear our standards for reviewing games. One of those standards is that we play the multiplayer modes in games that have them. That's sort of a no-brainer, right?

With this in mind, unfortunately, our review for tomorrow's release of Ninja Gaiden 3 will be delayed, as the multiplayer servers for the retail version of the game are not yet online. To my knowledge, the online pass codes included in Ninja Gaiden 3 on both PS3 and Xbox 360 are not functional at this time. I also did not receive "debug" non-final game code for Ninja Gaiden 3 to test multiplayer in a non-retail environment.

Put simply, I haven't played multiplayer at all. It's emphasized as a major component of Ninja Gaiden 3 in the game itself and by Tecmo in their marketing for the title. As such, it doesn't seem appropriate to pass a final judgment on the game before taking the opportunity to play this part of Ninja Gaiden 3.

I'm sorry for the delay. I'm just as interested in telling everybody about Ninja Gaiden 3 as many of you are in hearing about it. Our review will ideally be up in the first half of this week.
