'100 Yen' explores the mysterious world of Japanese arcades
Where have all the arcades gone? Well, if you live in Japan, they've been here all along, packed full of people, and found within walking distance from any train station. A new documentary titled 100 Yen aims to explore the evolution of arcades in both North America and Japan, looking at the games and people that inhabit them. The movie takes a look at shooting games (spaceship, not FPS), fighters, and rhythm games, and features interviews with tournament stars and journalists covering the scene. While the rough cut is done and the trailer is available online (below), the film's makers are fundraising on Indiegogo in order to bring the movie to life.
