Facebook Disconnect team launches extensions for blocking Twitter and Google
The folks behind Facebook Disconnect have released two new extensions, letting you disconnect from both Twitter and Google as well. The extensions are available for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, and they work in much the same way as their Facebook counterpart. Google Disconnect will block third-party sites with Google widgets from sending any information to Google, while Twitter Disconnect will do the same thing for sites with Twitter widgets. Of course, you still have the option of using the main Disconnect extension — which disables tracking from a number of services at once, including Digg, Facebook, Google, and Twitter — but the individual extensions are useful if you only want to block certain companies from tracking what you do online.
