A bundle of revealing photos and a user manual posted by the FCC has revealed what appears to be an 11.6-inch Sony "VAIO CC111" Chromebook in black and white varieties. The leaked materials clearly show a number of hints that suggest the device will run Chrome OS — including the lack of a Windows key, a dedicated pinhole button for system recovery on the bottom of the device, and references to "Chrome OS" and "Chromebook" in the user guide. Visible ports for the device include HDMI, an SD card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, and standard microphone and headphone jacks. Specs are still unknown except for 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity.

If the VAIO Chromebook ends up for retail sale, it will be just the third model to do so — Samsung released its Series 5 Chromebooks last June, and Acer released its AC700 model in July. Since then, Samsung refreshed its Series 5 models, but other than that the Chromebook market has been pretty quiet.

Thanks, Andrew Baxter!
