The shill theory.
Has anyone else noticed the increasing number of anti-microsoft fanboys claiming that anyone who likes a Microsoft product is automatically a shill? There are several reasons why I find these claims to be horrendously stupid:
1. It should be obvious to the user base in Microsoft Tribe that it is very possible in this day and age to like a Microsoft product without being an employee. Ever since 7 released, it seems Microsoft has been on a roll with amazing products.
2. When you go into a post about Macs, most of the people that are likely using Macs and are going to praise them. The fact that there are a lot of people in a Windows Phone post praising the product is completely normal, as that post is aimed towards them. It shouldn't matter how many people in the world actually use the device, chances are, the people that do are going to be commenting on teh product if that product is the topic of the article.
3. It seems there can be a thousand Android fanboys, and a thousand Apple fanboys and thats completely fine but the moment one or two people show their fanboyism towards Microsoft, they are obviously employees.
4. These statements are made with no factual evidence to prove that the poster is indeed a shill.
I guess what angers me the most is that the people making the statements are hypocrites as they too themselves are fanboys. Hypocrites are what made me flee Engadget, and I don't want this site to become Engadget, I don't think anyone wants it too.
Does anyone else happen to agree with what I have to say? Or am I the crazy one?
