I think people who don't and never intend to know about computers should get a mac

I say that with a heavy heart, I am a big windows users and have zero intention of getting a mac for my own personal use, but this latest string of relatives asking me how to fix their computer has kind made me snap.

It's still very possible for them to screw up a mac too (I won't make the mistake of underestimating their capacity to destroy things), but the opportunities are smaller. I am sick of the no nothings, sick of them asking me why they keep getting infected and having things not work right. It's like they have open wounds on their arms and legs, then proceed to walk into a disease infested swamp and then stare back confused as to why they are compromised and hurting...

The problem is that there are too many stupid people in this world, and there is a place for more stupid proof devices for them to use.

And before some of you go ape @#$%, I am not saying mac users are stupid, many of them are far brighter than average, but it's also true that people who have no idea how to use technology who want to use a computer would be better off going mac because of just how oblivious they are to even the most basic security and best practices.

I make this case from a place of disgust at how clueless many people are, but there it is.
