General Electric bulbs still light up after 100 years
An employee at General Electric recently stumbled across a 100-year-old time capsule at the company's Nela Park headquarters in Ohio, which contained five incandescent lightbulbs — and after a few tests, it turns out that a few of them actually worked. Of those that were found, three still managed to light up, though they don't get particularly bright as GE was wary of pushing them too far due to their age. Even still, while modern electronics are often on the fragile side, with relatively short lifespans, it's impressive to see an old piece of technology with such staying power.
