Gmail app for iPad and iPhone now allows for sending from alternate email addresses
If you're a Gmail users who has multiple email addresses set up under your account, the beleaguered iOS app now offers users the option to select which you want to use when sending. It's a pretty basic feature that has long been supported in Gmail's standard web client, but if you're one of those who finds the iOS app acceptable, you can now send and respond to messages from any address you have linked up. This feature was added without the need for a new app update, so users can take advantage of it right now — it was also turned on in the HTML5 web app (which, not coincidentally, is basically identical to the native iOS app). Despite this addition, we still can't really say we'd recommend this app over Apple's default Mail app — or even the recently-release Sparrow for iPhone (which doesn't yet support push notifications, but is otherwise a far better mobile Gmail client).
