Site layout: it' s a problem for me.
I was an active reader of Engadget, Thisismynext, and Joystiq. They post all of their articles vertically. Once the Verge came out, I couldn't deal with the horizontal/vertical layout. It's too hard for me to scan the posts and find out precicely where I left off reading on my last visit. I don't understand the chronological order of the site content. I don' know which articles are new and the ads thrown into the mix further introduce displeasure for my brain. It is a big enough issue for me that I have basically stopped reading the Verge.
Now my beloved Joystiq is becoming The Verge/Vox gaming and following similar layout patterns. I'm feeling a similar frustration, but I loved Joystiq 10x more than those other sites. But I can't stand to look at the site. In fact, I hate it. Does anyone else have this problem? Am I viewing the site wrong? Is there a portal I can access to view the site differently?
Best regards,
