The Missing Piece to Android's Puzzle
I've had posts about ecosystems before, but with the developments of Windows 8 I think it is worth while to come at it from a slightly different angle. I think that Android is a fantastic mobile OS, but it falls short for the sole fact that Google is not pushing forward a full-fledged OS for computers. iOS has OS X and Windows Phone 7 will have Windows 8. But Android doesn't have an operating system that it can have tightly integrated components. Google should take a page out of their own book and realize that Apps have a strong position when compared to websites especially when it comes to things like notifications or image editing.
I don't think that Google would make an X86/64 OS but I would really love to see it.
