HTC Thunderbolt
Reviewed by pespence (Previously owned)
This was my first "non-nexus" Android phone. I purchased it when I switched to VZW from T-Mobile. I had fantastic experiences with HTC phones in the past (G1, Nexus One) and I was looking forward to this one.
First of all, the software on this device was terrible. HTC Sense crippled Android 2.3.4. My Nexus One was much faster and snappier, despite having lesser hardware. The entire experience seemed half-baked and rushed, and as a result, it was always buggy and slow. There were the random reboots, call reception issues, and freezing.
Battery life on the phone was just a step above terrible. I generally could make it through an entire day with moderate use before I had to charge the phone.
The hardware was pretty good and my recommendation for anyone who buys/owns this phone is to root it and immediately flash a custom rom. There is decent developer support and the roms out there blow the stock software out of the water.
