This doesn't come as a major surprise to us, but Nokia has confirmed that it doesn't plan to bring the 808 PureView to US or any other nearby countries. Buried deep within the device specifications page, there's a note about "global" availabilty — excluding North America. That's just as well, since Nokia stopped selling unlocked devices directly in the US last year, and no US carrier would be wiling to pick up a Symbian phone at this point. That's not even to mention the fact that Nokia confirmed last year that it would not bring any more Symbian phones to the US. Still, this phone's incredibly unique camera design was sure to attract some interest, but those people who want to give it a shot will need to find some source to import it — or just wait for the inevitable Nokia Windows Phone with this new technology.
