Futulele: iPad and iPhone combine for ukulele action
Music app developer Amidio has announced Futulele, a ukulele synthesiser that combines an iPad with an iPhone in a dedicated guitar-shaped case. The iPhone is used for your fretting hand, and you strum on the iPad. Amidio hasn't finalized details regarding the case yet, but says it's seeking out hardware partners. The app is due out in April, and will apparently be one of the first music apps optimised for the iPad 3. Ukuleles aren't exactly the most expensive instruments in the world, but if you already own the necessary iOS devices this jury-rigged solution could be an even cheaper way to teach yourself some Hawaiian hits. Or Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley, as the video below ably demonstrates.
