Windows 8 and NEW touchscreen monitors
I'm hoping that Windows 8 opens up a new world of touch PC gaming and touchscreen monitors. There hasn't been a huge push in touchscreen monitors because the software doesn't support it yet but I can see a lot of PC games take full advantage of touch. I also think applications like Photoshop could benefit from having optional touch gestures and tools.
I'm not going to be bold in saying that there is going to be a huge flood of new touchscreen monitors this year but I hope the trickle starts this holiday season. I hope the new generation is thinner, cheaper, more accurate and has better ergonomics. Execution has been part of their failure so far.
