This is the most beautiful phone in it's category till date. Though I prefer the curved screen of Lumia 800 over 900, but 4.3 is the minimum screen size I could settle for. For the same reason I had considered the Titan 2 as well, but the ClearBlack display on 900 clearly trumps the benefits of Titan 2 (bigger screen and crisper camera).
The rest of the hardware like processor and RAM are pretty standard, but then the superior WP7 clearly doesn't need better specs. Another cool thing I noticed was the field of view that front facing camera provides. Makes video chatting on phone easier.
4G-LTE helps too :)
As for the software, I like how far WP7 has come and believe that it will soon be the best smartphone OS. iOS clearly has some benefits over it right now. And Android is not even in the same league. The user interactions on WP7 are much smoother than iPhone or laggy Android. It is clearly the easiest smartphone for a beginner and power users will love how quickly they can get the work done. I was amazed when my non-tech dad could configure Tango and call me without anybody's help.
Media experience (XBox Live and Zune) surpasses both the iPhone and Android. WP7's cleaner email interface is also a clear winner. Bing vision, voice and music search are amazing features that most people don't seem to have picked on yet. I also love how Office can sync my docs from the cloud with the least configuration.
WP7 does have some revealing kinks - like lesser apps(but fast growing) and some clearly missing features - like not showing duration of calls. But for me the benefits overshadow these glitches.
PS: I lost respect for Joshua Topolsky few days back(still love theverge though). He clearly hasn't used this phone long enough.
