Microsoft Has A Massive Opportunity W/ Windows 8
I'm in college right now. Most people here have MacBooks (with some Windows sprinkled in). A lot of people I know are thinking about tablets, specifically the iPad and a keyboard, because they don't feel they need a laptop to get stuff done. That being said they're afraid of the jump.
That brings me to my title. The windows users here want to stay with Windows. Everyone who see's Windows 8 thinks it looks cool. If Microsoft and it's hardware partners are able to create a new market entirely (think "laplets" or something) that combines tablet with laptop (a la Transformer Prime) they'd have so much money on their hands. And more importantly people would be willing to buy products at an iPad price point because its also a full fledged laptop.
If we don't see something like Lenovo's Ideapad or a Transformer w/ Windows 8 by Christmas I think they'll have missed out on a massive opportunity.
