Zaggmate iPad keyboard case review
Note: This is a review of the original Zaggmate keyboard case, for the iPad one, and I am using it with an iPad 2.
Some people really want a keyboard case for their iPad because they want to turn their iPad into a true productivity machine. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the Zaggmate fits the bill/ Now, I suppose that the keyboard might have improved in its second ititeration, but I doubt it, as the problem with it is one that I don't know how Zagg could solve: it's too cramped. The keys are small and very close together, and the way the case is made leaves no comfortable place to rest your hands ( there's no room to rest your writsts anywhere) on the case's aluminum shell. Speaking of that shell, it scratches. Easily. I've had it open for exactly one day and there are about 6 big scratches on the back. and I have no idea how they got there. I've had my iPad for about 6 months and it's still pretty much flawless. So, all in all, I don't really think this thing is worth the $100 list price ( I received it as a gift.) I'd give it a 6/10
Pros:
Keyboard is better than software keyboard
The case feels sturdy
connection to the iPad is a breeze
Cons:
Scratches easily
hinge that props up the iPad feels flimsy
Not a good enough keyboard to justify the price
