Please Can I Have a widescreen Verge..

Dear Verge Team

Please o please can you make a widescreen version of the site

Lets be honest most of us are tech geeks with pimp 24,27"+ monitors. The main page kicks ass but is mostly wasted as white space. I know it has to cater to everyone - but could you at least experiment with like verge.com/widescreen?

I know this is an old gripe but since you guys listen to your audience I thought I'd give it a shot.

The homepage is beautiful but in full screen mode all i get is this. (this is the original home screen i know but it is wiki and it still illustrates my point):
