Nokia Lumia 900 (LTE)
Reviewed by froesei (Currently owns)
Having owned both the Focus, and the HD7S, with a myriad of Android devices mixed in between, including my most recent, the Galaxy Nexus, I was anxious to give the Lumia a spin. After five days as my main phone, I've been pleasantly surprised, and have discovered that a lot of my previous complaints with WP7 were obviously hardware based. And believe me, the rumours are all true - this hardware is fantastic. The performance of the Lumia feels miles ahead of the first gen hardware, and some key apps have also improved, most notably, Rowi. It finally feels like I have a full fledged, fully functioning twitter app on my Windows Phone. I don't even notice the scrolling issues a lot of other 3rd party apps suffer from. Add to that the lovely true black amoled screen, the improved (although still far from perfect) camera, excellent battery life, and wonderful speeds on Rogers, and I'm a pretty happy customer. I'd also like to note that the Nokia exclusive apps are impressive. Most notably Nokia Drive, and Nokia Creative Studio. This photo enhancement app actually comes with some decent filters, but more importantly enough sliders and basic photo adjustments to produce some pretty great photos. No need for Instagram, IMHO. Also, and this may seem irrelevant to a lot of people, the inclusion of "Nokia Blue" as a theme just makes the phone look better. And we all know we spend a hell of a lot of time looking at our phone. So that's my very brief, and probably somewhat disjointed take on the Lumia 900. Hope it was helpful.
