Android Phones: What is the deal with these naming strategies?

I'm just wondering about what the general consensus is on phone names nowadays. To me, the names just seem so uninspired and plain. Phones like the Lucid, Amaze, or the Infuse just don't stand out at all. If someone were just rattling phone names like that off at me, I wouldn't at all be able to picture a phone. I also wouldn't be able to remember the brand either. They all seem like throwaway names, with little to no depth. In fact, it shows just how much depth a phone has, in my opinion. I suppose I have some examples, to try to convey what I believe is wrong with the various names of android devices:

Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch:

Surely, the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch is a mouthful, to say the least. It's as though Samsung felt the need to shove every nonsensical word they could in there. Now I'm sure others don't think of phone names as I do, but this just seems offensive. Not offensive personally, but in a "Oh, that's kind of trashy" sort of way. This phone can't really be that bad though, right? Oh no, I'm certain there's nothing wrong with this phone. What I do believe is that there is hardly any ambition here. What does this phone set out to do that no other has done before? Aside from showing how horribly skinned Android can get, not much else. In the end though, I can't imagine raving about this phone with a name like that. Conversations along the lines of "I just got my Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, it's so radical" almost beg the question "When is this name going to end?" or "What does that even mean?"

LG Spectrum:

Spectrum? Who makes that one again? Oh, LG does. Now here is a phone that lives up to the low standards its name sets for itself. It's quite a bland phone from the get-go. Nothing about it screams quality once you look at it, and the name doesn't particularly make me want to check it out in the first place. It's sort of like judging a book by its cover, except this is a book titled "Blah Blah Blah" There aren't any specifics to go on here, and the name doesn't exactly try to grab you. Perhaps this phone is more appealing because of the price, or maybe some special offer that has to be tied to it in order to make it look like a deal. Perhaps you just don't care about phones, which in that case, the Spectrum might just be the one for you! Anyway, this and the many other phones like it are just pushed out into the market so that manufacturers can tout having the widest array of smartphones. The name is just a small warning sign in cases like these, for those of you who are looking for a serious smartphone.

Now I don't mean to be offensive or harsh about names, I know it isn't a big deal and I just figured that I would take the time to share my thoughts on the subject. More or less, I just want to see what everyone else believes while stating my own thoughts and concerns. So what do you guys think?
