A Humble Suggestion for Article Commenting
Alright guys, I'm quite honestly tired of the article comments. While some people are constructive, many simply go from article to article, spreading the hate with little to no knowledge of the subject matter. Even the verge staff have become aware of this, and while I think Josh's article trying to stop the hate is a good move, I believe real action should be taken. If we made a separate section of the forums for article comments, and included a link on the article itself to go to that particular forum, it would make the article cleaner, and readers seeking additional opinion could go look if they wanted to. Adding that extra step would hopefully make an angry commenter reconsider. An article author's writing is their opinion, and someone wants to refute it or add to it, they should be able to without having to sift through a load of garbage first. Another option would be to eradicate commenting entirely and leave it to the forums, which I would also support. Anyone else agree? If not, why?
