Predictions: Fall Success, Microsoft vs Apple
I'm very excited for fall to come and it has nothing to do with leaves falling from trees or anything like that. It has to do with the Tech products that will be coming in the Fall. We have Windows 8, new iPhone, new WP8 phones and all kinds of products to support the big three. This fall can make or break the 2 biggest players, Microsoft and Apple, but I see a clear winner coming out of this and thats Microsoft.
My prediction is Microsoft dominating the tech companies like they did in 2010 but this time with "hit" products, which makes you wonder what happens if Microsoft actually has a "hit". In 2010, they turned the highest net profits for any tech company and that includes Apple with all their "hits". This time around I predict that Microsoft will dominate starting in the fall and going into the 2013 year.
The driving force for the domination will be Windows 8. It will revive the PC industry and also challenge the iPad in tablet dominance. Office 15 will be a low down hit for Microsoft like Office 2010 was. Finally WP8 will make significant market movement and start being a recognized mobile OS. Apple on the other hand just has the new iPhone and we can throw in their MBA PRO laptops. They are talking about a TV too, but by reading the things Steve Jobs said about tvs, that he cracked the code for a tv thats easy to use leaves me to think that only true fanboys would buy that, Tvs are not hard, I dont know what kind of people he was talking about.
I know that Windows 7 was a huge hit but in the eyes of everyday people and fanboys, Microsoft doesn't make any desirable products because thats measured by how many people sell their kidneys to buy the product and line up for days to purchase them.
2010 Net Profits
Microsoft $18.8 billion
Apple $14 billion
2011 Net Profits
Apple $25.92 billion
Microsoft $23.15 billion
Those are my predictions, what are yours?
