We found Sony's Xperia S to be a powerful but slightly flawed smartphone when we tested it out recently, but some users have experienced a significant flaw in the form of a yellow-tinted display. We didn't see that issue, but enough users have that Sony was forced to acknowledge the issue today. The company said in a statement that "the display on a limited number of Xperia S smart phones may show a slight yellow tint if exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius." Sony reiterated that only a small number of phones are affected and confirmed that it'll replace devices free of charge. If you're having trouble, head to your nearest authorized service center for a new phone, and take heart in the fact that Sony says it has identified and corrected the manufacturing flaw that led to this issue.
