Top-tier smartphones have typically been reserved for those with contracts on big carriers, but things are looking up for customers on prepaid plans looking for quality hardware. Pocketnow reports that Boost Mobile could be releasing the HTC Evo Design 4G on its network before the end of the quarter. This handset could mark a new high point in Boost's portfolio, easily besting the former prepaid flagship the LG Marquee and even Virgin Mobile's frontrunner, the Motorola Triumph.
While the Design 4G's 4-inch qHD SLCD display and single-core 1.2GHz processor are a little mundane, Pocketnow claims that it could launch with Google's latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich. This would be a great departure from the Gingerbread phones on the market now, but we'll see what happens if and when Boost makes an official announcement.
