1366×768 on a Phone - Could it be imagined that Windows Phones just get plain Windows 8?

1366x768 is the minimum resolution Windows 8 Metro is really designed to work for. The minimum requirement for Metro is 1024x768, but then you can't have two apps on screen at once.

As no one really knows what Windows Phone 8 or Apollo is anymore (is Apollo really Windows Phone 8?), let's try a different thought experiment for fun:

Can it be imagined to run good ole Windows 8 Metro on a phone? Quite a confusing idea, mainly because of horizontal vs. vertical, right...?

The Apollo update has always been on the Windows Phone roadmap, like as a bag of all that was not covered in Mango and Tango, call it, 'the missing features' or 'vNext'. But maybe Windows 'Phone' 8 is just something different than Apollo, something that doesn't really exist, because it's just Windows 8.

So then: current devices will get the final 'Apollo' update, but not Windows 8. But Windows 8 will be able to run Windows Phone 7.x apps (all managed .net code!), and also on the desktop and tablets!

WOW!!! :-)))
