Just Finished The Witcher 2, Would Anyone Recommend the first?

Hey,

I just finished playing The Witcher 2 and loved it. Wish it was longer, but hopefully there will be a sequel. I don't know to much about the first game. Would anyone recommend I play it after playing the second? I know they make so many improvements I may not like it. If anyone can point out some key differences I would be grateful.
