Should Apple buy Nintendo?
According to this article from 2011, Nintendo's company stock is worth about $2.29 billion. Apple made close to 5 times that this last quarter. The risk is minimal for Apple and the potential upside is huge. Nintendo would no longer have to deal with hardware costs as they would do their development for Apple's iOS products. In addition, I could see them using iTunes as a sort of development platform/distribution network for their games. They could leverage the existing PC/Mac hardware to run games. Again, no software console needed. Let's not forget about Apple's current and upcoming Apple TV.
This would give Apple a big advantage against their competitors.
If Steve Jobs were with us today, would he push a deal to buy Nintendo?
