New iPhone in the summer?
We all know Apple is predictable with their release schedules, or at least they were until the 4S which was significantly later than their usual one every 12 month iPhone cycle.
How ever you cut it, the 4S did not warrant that extra time in terms of delivering new hardware/software or functionality. It was entirely predictable and expected.
Maybe that was Apples game all along.
They don't need to release a massive upgrade to make the iPhone sell millions of units. So they created a functional iteration to keep sales ticking along and make everyone think they were loosing their "and one more thing".
Then BAM, at WWDC when no one expects their to be a radical new iPhone they announce it and blind side everyone and recapture some of their magic which is starting to wane.
I can totally imagine the Apple marketing department pitching an idea to manufacture a state of calm just so they can smash it later.
Or maybe Apple are becoming predictable?
Thoughts?
