Question for Persona fans - Which game to play for someone new?

Hello all Verge readers,

Among you all, is there someone who ia a fan of the Persona JRPGs, and has played most of them?

If so, I have a question for you!

I always heard that the Persona games were amazing, but since my PS2 broke, and I never owned a PSP, I pretty much had no way of playing anyof them!

Now I proudly own a Vita, and I think now is a good time to finally try one Persona game, and I wanted to ask you all which one should I play!

Time is a factor for me, since I work a lot and have little playing time per day, so just going all out and playing all games is not a possibility for me.

So, given that Atlus has the "ReVITAlized" promotion going on, which the first 3 Persona games are 19,99 to 29,99 each, and that Persona 4 will be released as a special edition for the Vita, what should I do?

Should I go ahead and buy Persona 3? Should I wait for Persona 4 (which has not been confirmed yet for the US, but I think it is a safe bet)?
