Where does this Lumia Hype come from?

Can somebody explain to me where this "wait for the Nokia phones - especially the 900 - to come out, and everything will be great in the Windows Phone world" came from?

I am an Android user myself, living in Germany, but got my sister a Windows Phone because a half year ago i thought that there was nothing with a better value/price ratio out there (160€ for a 1GHz Phone).

Where does this hype come from?

• It is still the same WP 7.5
• It has basicly the same specs
• Even the camera - s.th. where Nokia was often ahead - is just average

I just don't know what should make the Lumias better than the other Windows Phones, the case design? There i think Windows Phone already had an advantage over many Android Phones (and for me personally the iPhone)

Can someone enlighten me?
