VooMote's Zapper universal remote for iOS received a software update this week, bringing iCloud support to the platform. This means that all of your iOS devices — be it an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad — are able to share setup information seamlessly, so that you only need to configure the infra-red accessory for your AV rack once. The only condition here is that you need to be logged with the same Apple ID on each device.

It's certainly a neat use of iCloud, and a dramatic improvement for Zapper users with many devices. It also means that your setup will always remain backed up in the cloud, so even if you uninstall the app or upgrade to a new phone or tablet you'll be able to start using the dongle again in no time. Other apps have used iCloud in a similar way before now, but with an accessory as portable as the Zapper, it's a welcome inclusion.
