Is RIM doing the right thing? or are they doomed?

It's easy to look at the actions (or lack of) coming out of RIM over the last year and write a puff article telling the world that RIM is doomed and its all over. Are they though? the product actually does a lot of things the competition still don't and maybe they are right not to even bother with the consumer market (read some of the forum posts here, most new phones are not given great press
