Windows 8 Desktop UI: Signs of Things to Come.
An article by Tom Warren that got little attention features beta software directly from Microsoft that features a clean metro like design. I'm wondering if (especially since this is very new software) this might be a signal that Microsoft might actually be rethinking the way windows in the desktop interface look.
It basically boils down to a desktop UI that doesn't have chrome. So specifically the close, restore, minimize would continue to evolve in styling.
Another use of this style by Microsoft rests in Office 15 (revealed by Warren)
Another obvious example is Zune itself.
So I think we should actually expect some of the concepts we've seen in the forums and elsewhere online, rather than hoping for them. After all, Windows 8 is still deep into beta, and we aren't close to seeing the final product.
