Do we need a rectification post about some coverage?
I am suggesting we create a new kind of post or 'rectification' label next to the existing 'Updated' label we have on some posts. Sometimes the Verge staff just gets the information wrong which reflects badly on the site and it's writers.
It just so happens that most of the incorrect statements happen on the podcast (due to the fact it is a general loose converation) and it also happens to be mostly about Microsoft products or services.
And after every podcast a series of threads start on the forum, mostly to disagree or argue about a statement made on the podcast, but also often times just to point out the mistakes that were made.
Some examples:
# Claiming Microsoft Office does not have a free web version (Office Web Apps)
# Claiming Zune does not have browser support (zune.net although it is silverlight so not truhly X-platform)
# Blaiming IE9's rendering engine for rendering Twitter Mobile incorrectly (either blame Microsoft or Twitter not the engine...)
I would like to see some way of indicating rectifications (either in post or by adding a new post to a story stream). Another way to do this is do go over these in next weeks podcast (as Ross Paul Miller said he would about Zune) but I feel this will just keep the arguments heated untill then. For example the 'Office Web Apps' rectification only came in this weeks podcast while it happened months ago.
