Nokia 808 PureView pre-orders begin in Italy at €599, estimated May release date
Italian retailer NStore.it has just opened up pre-orders for Nokia's 41-megapixel 808 PureView smartphone. It's a contract-free model, and it comes in at €599 — about $785. The pre-order page says that it expects the phone to be available in May. An Italian Nokia page points to the retailer's site, so we have all reason to believe that this price is legitimate. As a refresher, the PureView runs Symbian Belle and has a 4-inch, 640 x 360 screen; not terribly impressive, but it's all about that shooter on the back. Check our hands-on with the phone for a few impressions, but try not to fall in love if you're in North America — Nokia has made it very clear it won't be offering the 808 PureView on this side of the pond — though there is hope of Lumia PureView in the future.
